FOUR months

Cash is four months today.  four months.  FOUR MONTHS!!!!  Holy crap time is whizzing by.  I can't believe how much I love this little boy.  More and more every day.  He makes me smile so much.  He still hasn't rolled over again, but he is sure as heck trying.  Every day he does.  He's growing like a weed, even though he's still small.  He's barely fitting into 3 month clothes and barely wearing size 1 diapers anymore.  Our pediatrician told us we could start feeding solid foods at 4 months, so we will start doing that next time we go to the grocery store.  I'm planning on making his baby food so I've been reading up on the baby food cook book.  I'm getting excited about this milestone in his little world!  He is such a good baby so I'm anxious to see what the food brings for us :)

WHAAAAAT?!

Mr. Photogenic

Yesterday Oma took Cash and Kaila to have some photos done.  Overall, I'd say the session turned out to be a success.  However, I can't say that I will ever go back to that photo studio.

See, Leslie had a coupon for Portrait Innovations.  It was a pretty good package deal - of course you only got the package for one pose and who only wants to get ONE pose??  So they really rook ya into buying MUCH more.  We were there for over 4 hours.  WOW.  The studio was understaffed, it was probably over booked and it was FULL.  They kept getting our package wrong so they kept having to have us sit back down and re-work everything.  It was a mess.  Luckily, I have a happy baby and Cash did EXCELLENT.  Kaila did good too.

(Now, all my photog friends, hush up.  This was not my doing, it was Leslie's.  :/ )

So anyway, here are a couple...errr a few of my favorites from the shoot!!

the money shot!

Cash-man's Personality

Cash has been developing quite the little personality.  We are LOVING it!  He babbles non-stop.

eh-eheh-eh-eheheheh-eh-ehehehehehhhhhhhhhh-ehehhh-ehhhhh.  *deeeeep breath* Just to start all over again.  With a pause every so often just long enough to squeeze in a smile or a giggle when you ask him what on earth he is talking about?  His little voice is so sweet.  He just loves to hear himself talk and I just love to hear it go on and on.  Especially first thing in the morning when he doesn't think I can hear him.  He'll wake up and babble for a few minutes, just peaceful babbling, as if remembering he can do so and then fall right back asleep.

This afternoon after I got him home from daycare, I laid him out for some tummy time.  He immediately sat up on his elbows and looked in the mirror, then rolled over to his back.  He smiled up at me!  I gasped at him as this was the first time for him to roll over!!  He just smiled even bigger as if realizing his accomplishment and being proud of himself.  Of course I grabbed the camera so that I could take photos and video, turned him back over and what do you know?  He couldn't do it again.  He tried and tried and just couldn't.  He got so frustrated he started crying.  At first I thought maybe this had happened before in daycare (since it happened so quickly) and they just hadn't told me so that I'd think I'd be seeing it for the first time, but I'm thinking now that it was just an accident and I REALLY did see it for the first time (yay!) since he couldn't do it again??

He's trying soooo hard!  He ended up turned completely cock-eyed and almost off the blanket by the time he got frustrated enough to start crying.

his first nap on his tummy! - and I ended up falling asleep right next to him ;)

Happy 4th of July

We had some family and friends over today for the 4th of July and fried some fish.  Nothing big.  But it was pretty special just spending time with our loved ones for the holiday.  Cash was pretty wiped out after spending about an hour and a half at the pool with Oma.  She taught him some new "tricks".  :)

Check out that sunscreen hair!

Additionally, I should add that Cash had a great first week at daycare.  The teachers loved him and he never had any bad days.  He dropped off and picked up happy every day.  I cried a little when I dropped him off the first day.  :(  Yesterday when I dropped him off, I told him "Mommy loves you!" and he just smiled and laughed at me.  :)  He's recognized who I am over the last week.  He just lights up when he sees me.  He also has been sucking on his bottom lip. Other than that, nothing new really.

My Newest Love

We got a new pet!  A mini potbelly pig to be exact.  Her name is Penelope, she's 10 weeks old and she is just the most sweetest, lovable little thing in the whole wide world!  She LOVES to snuggle, nibble, grunt and just be with people.  She is still a little scared of the dogs.  Especially Jill, who doesn't quite know how to play nice - she's just too much of a puppy still.  Penelope is SO smart.  She stays in our little bar nook for now - behind a baby gate, so the dogs don't get her - and when we take her out and play with her she plays, snuggles, explores - just does her thing until she goes back, which is when she does her pottying.  (We have a potty pad in there for her to use until she's big enough to sustain the backyard on her own.)  She loves her "mini pig feed" and eats fruits and Cheerios for treats.  Currently she is about 3 pounds and she will get to be about 20 pounds at full grown size.  Her life span is about 15-20 years.  We look forward to many happy years with her!

Ellie loving on Penelope - just look at that sweet face!!

Penelope is exploring her new home.

Here she has burrowed up under her blanket - all by herself!
