Mission Complete: Nursery

We FINALLY have the nursery completed! yay. Yay. YAY!!!! The only thing missing is the area rug. It's on order, but hasn't shipped yet. I've gotten a notification that it's processing, but the ship date has been pushed back. I'm sad about this news. :( At least everything else is done. :)

Take a look-see:

This dadgum vinyl decal on the wall apparently was exposed to too much heat in shipping and is NOT sticking to the wall. Trey says it will be on the floor in the morning. Unfortunately I believe him. I've already had to press it back on about 3 times. :( Not sure what I'm going to do about that, besides pout about it.

The rug that I'm waiting on is pictured at the bottom. My posting is acting weird and not letting me caption the photos for some reason.... ??

Belly Casting at 38 weeks

As previously mentioned, Trey and I had a crafting night! We played with plaster and made a belly cast. It turned out great! I'm very proud of Trey for cooperating in my venture with this. {He actually discovered the kit at Babies R Us when we were completing our registry, pointed it out to me and grabbed it so that we could do it!} I'm so excited with the outcome and can't wait to paint it! I have more plans to come. ;)

*We did get some pictures of me wearing the cast, I just don't think they are blog appropriate, so I shall spare you those. :)

37 weeks

So, I'm technically 38 weeks now, but the photo below was taken last week at 37 weeks; I'm just falling a bit behind. I'll post later with my 38 week photo. Trey and I are doing a fun activity this evening: a belly cast!

We had an ultrasound this past week to check on Cash's projected weight and positioning. All looks good. He's head down and measuring at 6lbs, 10 oz. So if he comes on time, he could be 8 + lbs! EEk! Was NOT expecting THAT! But, at least everything is looking healthy; and that's all we can ask for. :)) And at this point, there is no sign of him coming early.

Dad has finished the crib (YAY!!!) But, it's raining. It has been raining ever since he finished and it's supposed to rain for the next week. So, who knows when we will be able to get it over to the house. I kid you not, every single time furniture has been complete and ready for transport, it has rained. It's basically been my way of knowing that some furniture has been ready without actually having been told. Boo to Mother Nature. We're even trying to get the car seat/bases in the vehicles in between showers.

So...until next time...

Nursery Update

The furniture is ALMOST complete! I should say, everything is complete except for the crib! It's built, but it's not finished with the sanding/staining/varnishing. Dad wanted to get all of the other completed pieces out of the garage before he started the finishing work on the crib so as not to get sawdust on the other finished pieces.

Since the carpet in my house was FINALLY cleaned last weekend, we were finally able to move those pieces into the nursery last weekend. So now Dad has finished the home stretch.

Everything at our house is ready for a baby should he decide to make his debut early {which I don't expect, as there have been NO signs}, as we have the pack n play that he can sleep in should he arrive before the crib is complete. Otherwise, the nursery is completely set up!

I start going to see my doctor every week on the 1st. I'm at 36 weeks now. Everything was perfect at the last appointment, at 34 weeks. :) Over this past week (35 weeks, which I didn't get any pictures of), my feet started to do a little bit of swelling, but only my feet, and that's about it. Still no heartburn or any mood swings/hormone changes. Cash did have the hiccups 2 times over the past couple weeks, which was adorable to feel.

When you walk in the room, you see this; the changing table/dresser with shelving on the wall to hold all the diapering, with airplanes flying above. Above the changing table is a mirror and picture frame:

On the same wall as the changing table is the closet; I have been stock-piling lots of diapers {all different sizes} and wipes :)

The shelves look kinda busy, but I don't think they will be in the end. The things on the floor in front of them are the mobile and monitor which will go in the crib once we move that in. Also 2 wall hangings will be hung above the rocking chair {one on each wall} once it is confirmed whether or not the shelves have to be moved for the crib to fit. Then on top of the short shelf are 4 paintings that will be hung once the crib is moved in as well upon the same confirmation. I just don't want to have to re-hang. So I think once those things are up, the shelves will look less busy. Additionally, I will be getting an area rug to go in the middle of the floor in there. And getting rid of that yellow coke crate leaning against the short shelf :)

Work Shower

A couple of weeks ago, my co-worker Sunshine put together a fabulous shower for me at work. We got together during lunch and had pizza and king cake - yum!

Here are some highlights:

one of the most adorable bibs ever! In case you can't read it, it says "Lock Up Your Daughters"

The "tummy time Boppy" for Cash; I also received the mommy Boppy for me :))

Kaila's Birthday

Yesterday Trey and I went to a "Hello Kitty" birthday party for our niece, Kaila. She is growing up SO FAST, and such a diva she is. She loves all things princess and "girlie". If it isn't pink/purple, she wants nothing to do with it. (This is also the niece that, initially, didn't like the name we have chosen for our little boy and re-named him "Jonathan". Who knows how long she will call him that. Maybe he will forever be "Jonathan" to her. haha)

She is one loved little girl and had a BLAST entertaining her friends and cousins!
